Position Summary:

The Accountant works with the accounting team to perform accounting operations and administration. Will provide support to the organizations Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions lead payroll reconciliation processes support in inventory activities financial period closing procedures and SOX controls. Manages responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supports major corporate economic strategies objectives and policies by following general accounting policies processes and activities
• Reviews policies and processes and recommends modifications to existing corporate programs
• In support of the Controller and Director of Finance prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income expenses and earnings based on past present and expected operations
• Support accounts payable /receivable function
• Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
• Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
• Support in inventory activities
• Completes financial period end closing procedures

Required Skills:

• To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office with an advanced level of Excel
• Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients and customers.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents logarithms quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution determination of test reliability and validity analysis of variance correlation techniques sampling theory and factor analysis
• Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Required Experience:

• Experience in manufacturing
• 3-5 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance
• Tax reporting knowledge and experience

Level of Education Required:

• Bachelors degree in finance/accounting or related field
