About the Role

Full-time 35 hours per week

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Child and Family Health Nurse to join our Minga Gudjaga & Birthing on Country program.

In this role you will deliver holistic culturally safe care for women babies and families working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support strong health outcomes from pregnancy through to early childhood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe evidence-based high-quality nursing care
  • Maintain AHPRA registration and professional standards
  • Ensure accurate confidential documentation
  • Provide culturally safe maternity postnatal and child health care
  • Support breastfeeding infant nutrition and parenting education
  • Monitor child growth development and immunisation status
  • Conduct developmental and pre-school health assessments
  • Manage care for clients with complex or chronic needs
  • Provide triage clinical assessments and care planning
  • Deliver care across clinic outreach and home settings
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Facilitate referrals and connections to services
  • Build strong partnerships with community and health services

About You

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience providing Child and Family Health nursing care within community hospital or primary health settings
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with a strong commitment to culturally safe practice
  • The ability to deliver holistic woman child and familycentred care across the continuum from pregnancy through early childhood
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication organisation and timemanagement skills including clinical documentation
  • A commitment to ethical practice maintaining confidentiality and fulfilling mandatory reporting responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with recognised Child and Family Health qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current NSW/ACT Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Criminal Record Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
