Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria features a full menu of freshly made breads pastas entrees salads and wood-oven pizzas along with finely crafted Arizona wines select beers and cocktails. Also onsite is the greenhouse and bottle shop and retail space.

The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming and engaging guests and ensuring that they are seated. Their duties include maintaining a well-stocked and organized retail area maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service passing out menus accepting phone calls completing accurate money transactions and accuracy of the cash register.

Experience: Two years or more of experience as hostess in the food and beverage industry is preferred.

Compensation: $15.15-16.00 per hour

Days/Hours: Somewhat flexible. 20 40 hours per week available

Additional Requirements (for some positions):

• Yavapai County Food Worker Certificate. ( Department of liquor basic training certificate. ()

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Experience hostessing or similar.
• Greets customers as they walk into the restaurant helps with reservations and guides them to their table.
• Adds guests to the Waitlist and gives them approximate wait time estimates.
• Provides guests with menus and answers any initial questions they may have.
• Optimizes seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff.
• Answers phones and schedules reservations with large parties.
• Cleans the store and ensure products are properly displayed before the store opens. Including shelves counters and tables.
• Organizes merchandise on shelves and restocks them when they become empty.
• Recommends selects and helps locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
• Advises customers concerning particular products or services and answers questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
• Executes routine inventory counts and submits reports to the Store Manager.
• Completes other store administrative tasks as directed by the Store Manager.
• Upsells to customers through recommendations.
• Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions policies regarding payment and exchanges and security practices.
• Able to accurately handle payment transactions.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time bending lifting of 25 pounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
