• Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina or in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. See the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) website for a list of participating states candidate must be able to pass Healthcare Provider CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) written and physical requirements as a condition of employment.

• Successful candidate must have a valid Driver License.

This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)

This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Scheduled work hours/shift: 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm 5 days/week with some schedule adjustments to 6:30am-3pm 11:30am-8pm and occasional 12-hour shift (6:30am-7pm) on weekends. Flexibility is required for schedule adjustment as needed/required.

We offer flexible shifts and pay additions for hours worked:

1st 6:30am-3pm 10% Weekend Only

2nd 2:30pm-11pm 15% Weekday & 25% Weekend

3rd 10:45pm-6:45am 20% Weekday & 30% Weekend

*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus*

Toqualify for the Sign-on Bonus a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

• The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government including the judicial system or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
• The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
• DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility located in Butner NC near the Research Triangle area. Murdoch serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
