Why this role matters

Brighter Beginnings is an early intervention initiative that supports families with children aged 05 years by offering practical culturally safe support within trusted early learning environments.

This role is highly outreach-focused delivering a place-based early intervention approach by engaging directly with families and educators in community settings. You will provide hands-on support within early childhood centres and other community locations where families feel comfortable ensuring services are accessible visible and responsive to local needs.

You will play a critical role in strengthening engagement through proactive outreach early identification of needs and building trusted relationships that support strong referral pathways and positive outcomes for children and families.

Your day to day

  • Deliver regular proactive outreach to early childhood education and care services across Inverell and surrounding communities with the majority of work conducted on-site in preschools childcare settings and community locations.
  • Build and maintainstrong visible relationships with families educators and community partners through consistent presence and engagement in local settings.
  • Undertake assessments within outreach environments to understand family circumstances identify needs and plan appropriate next steps.
  • Provide information guidance and warm referrals supporting families to navigate services and reduce barriers to access.
  • Offershort-term practical outreach support to families experiencing challenges such as service waitlists system complexity or disengagement.
  • Partner closely with educators and ACCOs to ensure outreach approaches areculturally safe respectful and responsive particularly when supporting Aboriginal children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with your local team/s and Brighter Beginnings counterparts to ensure continuity of service delivery across regions.

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant degree qualification in a related field
  • At least 3 years experience working in supporting vulnerable families with young children and expectant mothers preferably including experience supporting families with attachment disruption and trauma histories.
  • Must have a solid understanding of all areas of child development such as physical social emotional and neurological development etc.
  • Sound understanding and experience in supporting families with routines nutrition and positive parenting practices.
  • Strong background in delivering Child Protection services to vulnerable families.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to use technology in service delivery.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and remotely.
  • High level of professional accountability and integrity and a belief that every parent has potential.
  • Current drivers licence.
