Laboratory Equipment Support Technician

The Laboratory Equipment Support Technician serves as the primary point of contact for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. This role ensures that critical instruments remain clean functional and available to support testing activities. The ideal candidate is detailoriented highly organized and comfortable working collaboratively with laboratory scientists in a fastpaced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for routine laboratory equipment maintenance needs.
• Refill the incubator water on a routine schedule to ensure proper function.
• Coordinate and perform annual disinfection of incubators and biosafety cabinets.
• Conduct monthly freezer deicing to support optimal equipment performance.
• Coordinate and perform annual freezer defrosts.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory scientists to schedule maintenance around active testing and minimize disruptions.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as time permits.

Qualifications :

• Associates degree with 35 years of relevant lab experience OR High school diploma with 57 years of experience in an academic biotech or pharmaceutical laboratory
• Proven experience with laboratory equipment maintenance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship

Additional Information :

The position is onsite full-time first shift Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston MA are encouraged to apply.
