We are hiring for our client a well-established and growing Food manufacturer for a Site Technical Manager to oversee and manage all technical aspects of the sites production operations. The Site Technical Manager will be the go-to person for all food safety quality and regulatory matters and will lead a dynamic team to ensure that all products meet the highest standards and exceed customer expectations.

The Role
As the Site Technical Manager you will:
- Lead the technical team ensuring the effective management of food safety and quality standards across the site.
- Be the point of contact for all technical aspects including regulatory compliance HACCP quality control and customer specifications.
- Manage the sites Quality Management System (QMS) including the implementation of systems to monitor and maintain product consistency.
- Take ownership of all technical documentation ensuring it meets the necessary standards and is accurate for all production runs.
- Coordinate external audits (BRC customer audits) and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Oversee the management of product specifications raw material sourcing and supplier approval ensuring they meet the highest food safety and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation (DAFM HACCP BRC) and update systems in line with customer and industry requirements.
- Lead and manage the continuous improvement process driving initiatives that will improve food safety reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and deliver training and development plans for the technical team to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Work closely with other departments (Production Purchasing R&D and Logistics) to ensure seamless coordination of technical requirements.
- Actively contribute to all operational meetings helping the site achieve its production and quality targets.
The Person
- Degree in Food Science Food Technology or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in managing technical operations within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP BRC standards and other relevant food safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage motivate and develop a technical team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming production challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
- Experience managing audits certifications and regulatory compliance.
- Attention to detail and a passion for driving high standards of quality and food safety.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and handling technical queries.
