We have a9-monthfixed-term opportunityfor aDataAnalytics and Visualisation Engineer toprovide operational and development support for analytical workflows (data pipelines and dashboards) for communicable disease surveillance reporting.You will partner with our expertsat PHF Scienceand our external partners to derive meaningful value from data.
The position will be available to start early July. Preference isfor the role to be based ineitherAucklandWellington or remote working may be considered.
In this role you will be involved in:
Provide technical support to develop andmaintaindata ingestion and interactive dashboards frameworks using diverse data sets.
Provide operation support for real time datacollection ingestionstorageand analysis solutions.
Maintain data governance security and technical standards for development and deployments of analytics apps as per organisational policies.
Contributes to requirements gathering and recommendations fornew solutionsthat align with best practices.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant tertiary levelqualification(e.g.Data Science/Analytics/Computer Science/Software Engineering)
Experience in Python/Power BI/R Shiny/Tableau/TSQL
Working knowledge of API/SharePoint integration
Experience withVersion Control (e.g.Git repositories)
Knowledge of requirements gathering and data modelling in Data Science/analytics domain.
Relevant industry or research experience in analytics or data science.
Understanding of how web applications work including consuming Web APIs
Strong quantitative and computational aptitude
Accurate detail focussed and reliable
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Well-developed problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to grasp new concepts quickly andacquirenew skills
