Job Summary
Location: Remote in the US
The Senior Cost Engineer at Gordian acts as a technical authority for construction cost data development. This role leads complex projects ensures adherence to best practices and mentors engineers to elevate team capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee development and validation of cost data for multiple disciplines ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Lead large-scale updates and enhancements to cost databases and assemblies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for construction methods codes and cost modeling.
- Mentor engineers and associate engineers providing guidance on methodology and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product teams to align data development with customer needs and market trends.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to strategic initiatives for data reliability and efficiency.
Additional Agile/ADO Responsibilities:
- Lead Agile workstreams facilitate backlog refinement and ensure sprint goals align with product strategy.
- Partner with the Product Owner to translate business needs into actionable tasks and provide technical insights for prioritization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
- 8 years of experience in construction estimating or engineering.
- Proven leadership in managing complex data development projects.
- Advanced knowledge of construction practices codes and cost modeling.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to influence process improvements and strategic decisions.
