- Support and modernize healthcare transaction processing and back-end data platforms
- Understand how modern applications leverage AWS-managed services and event-driven architectures to process transform and deliver healthcare data reliably and securely
- Design build and maintain Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interfaces (RESTful APIs) and backend services that retrieve transform and serve healthcare Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and transactional data
- Build and integrate cloud-native application services within an AWS-hosted environment
- Design and implement event-driven and asynchronous workflows using AWS-managed services and messaging patterns
- Integrate with internal platform APIs EDI processing pipelines and cloud-based data services to deliver line and historical transaction data reliably and efficiently
- Develop application integrations leveraging AWS services such as SQS SNS Lambda S3 EventBridge API Gateway DynamoDB and ECS/EKS
- Write clean testable and well-documented code and participate actively in peer code views
- Perform unit and integration testing across backend services and API layer
- Apply and promote modern software engineering best practices within an Agile development environment
- Use Git/GitHub for version control branching strategies pull requests and collaborative development

- 8 years of software development experience specifically with back-end engineering
- Experience developing cloud-native applications within AWS environments
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare enterprise or distributed-system environments
- Proven experience building back-end services that process and deliver structured healthcare or EDI data
- Experience working with asynchronous messaging event-driven systems or distributed application workflows
- Hands-on experience developing applications that interact with AWS services such as SQS SNS Lambda S3 API Gateway EventBridge DynamoDB ECS/EKS and CloudWatch
- Experience designing cloud-native APIs and distributed application interactions

- An ability to evaluate when AI-assisted code generation is appropriate and when manual engineering judgment validation security review or deeper analysis is required
- An understanding of the limitations risks and verification requirements associated with AI-generated code and technical outputs particularly in regulated healthcare-related environments
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly within professional engineering workflows
- The ability to evaluate validate test and refine AI-generated code and technical outputs using sound engineering judgment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering platform DevSecOps and business teams
