Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. Our Search API currently powers Agents Fortune 500s and AI labs as we transform an industry that hasnt been disrupted since the 90s. Were a largely SF-based team of 100 from Harvard MIT Meta Google Research ex-founders & dropouts alike.

We recently raised an $85M Series B from Benchmark and we are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. Were high agency low-ego and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.

We are hiring a Sales Development Representative to help bring Exa to the world.

About the Role

As a Sales Development Representative at Exa you will build high quality pipeline across enterprise and developer segments. You will own outbound prospecting qualify inbound interest and partner closely with Account Executives to turn product interest into revenue.

This role is fully in office in San Francisco. We believe working together in person drives speed accountability and learning.

We are looking for competitive curious high ownership individuals who want to help build a category defining AI company.

What You Will Do

  • Generate pipeline through personalized outbound across email phone and social

  • Engage developers founders and enterprise leaders in thoughtful conversations

  • Write clear compelling messaging tailored to AI search and infrastructure use cases

  • Partner with AEs Marketing and founders on targeted outbound campaigns

  • Build and prioritize account lists within high value segments

  • Qualify inbound leads and convert product interest into meetings

  • Conduct high level conversations with technical and executive stakeholders

  • Hit and exceed monthly quotas for meetings opportunities and pipeline generated

  • Track performance metrics and continuously improve outreach strategy

  • Contribute to outbound playbooks and messaging frameworks

What We Are Looking For

  • 1 years of sales experience ideally in SaaS AI infrastructure or high growth tech

  • Strong interest in AI developer tools or technical products

  • Competitive mindset with a strong internal drive to win

  • Comfortable in a fast moving high performance environment

  • Resilient and coachable

  • Clear and concise communicator

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize

  • Self starter mentality. When you see an opportunity you act

Compensation

Exa rewards impact and performance. This role is variable compensation eligible with uncapped upside and meaningful equity ownership. Final compensation will depend on experience skill set and demonstrated ability.
