From metallurgical testing to process monitoring this team helps keep production running efficiently while supporting innovation and continuous improvement across the plant.

This is a hands-on technical role in a fast-paced industrial environment where precision attention to detail and problem-solving matter every day. Compensation & Schedule

• Starting Wage: $22.00/hour
• Night Shift Premium: Additional $1.30/hour
• Schedule: Rotatingschedule (3 days on 2 days off 2 days on 3 days off)
• Shift Time: Nights: 4:45 PM 5:00 AM

What Youll Do

In this role you will support laboratory operations quality systems and process improvement initiatives throughout the casthouse operation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform laboratory testing sample preparation and analysis to support billet and slab casthouse operations
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including spectrometers optical microscopes CNC machines heat treat ovens testing equipment and material preparation tools
• Accurately document report and maintain product and process records to support traceability quality standards and compliance requirements
• Support manufacturing process improvement statistical monitoring and quality assurance initiatives across Production and Metallurgical teams
• Maintain laboratory procedures work instructions Measurement Assurance documentation and ISO-related records
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and assist in maintaining clean safe and organized work areas
• Train and support team members on laboratory equipment testing procedures and safe work practices
• Assist with general laboratory operations including material handling and fork truck operation as needed

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Ability to safely use cutting and grinding equipment including saws grinders sanders and related tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work safely in an industrial laboratory and manufacturing environment
• Strong communication organization and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline
• Prior laboratory or manufacturing testing experience
• Mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency
• Experience operating a Spectrometer and Optical Microscope
• Ability to learn and safely operate small machine tools and fork trucks
• Experience supporting quality systems and process improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with statistical monitoring and process capability methods
