Compensation & Schedule
- Starting Wage: $22.00/hour
- Night Shift Premium: Additional $1.30/hour
- Schedule: Rotatingschedule (3 days on 2 days off 2 days on 3 days off)
- Shift Time: Nights: 4:45 PM 5:00 AM
What Youll Do
In this role you will support laboratory operations quality systems and process improvement initiatives throughout the casthouse operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform laboratory testing sample preparation and analysis to support billet and slab casthouse operations
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including spectrometers optical microscopes CNC machines heat treat ovens testing equipment and material preparation tools
- Accurately document report and maintain product and process records to support traceability quality standards and compliance requirements
- Support manufacturing process improvement statistical monitoring and quality assurance initiatives across Production and Metallurgical teams
- Maintain laboratory procedures work instructions Measurement Assurance documentation and ISO-related records
- Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and assist in maintaining clean safe and organized work areas
- Train and support team members on laboratory equipment testing procedures and safe work practices
- Assist with general laboratory operations including material handling and fork truck operation as needed

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Ability to safely use cutting and grinding equipment including saws grinders sanders and related tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work safely in an industrial laboratory and manufacturing environment
- Strong communication organization and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline
- Prior laboratory or manufacturing testing experience
- Mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency
- Experience operating a Spectrometer and Optical Microscope
- Ability to learn and safely operate small machine tools and fork trucks
- Experience supporting quality systems and process improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with statistical monitoring and process capability methods
