Salary:
At EUSSD compensation is determined through a comprehensive approach that considers candidate qualifications role responsibilities market benchmarks and organizational needs. Pay may vary by location; for this position the annual base salary target range is $21.00 - $22/hr with potential eligibility for bonuses or commission depending on the role.
Summary:
Element U.S. Space & Defense (EUSSD) is a premier provider of independent test and evaluation services to the US defense aerospace and space industries. We are also a leading provider of unique and complex testing including shock vibration and mechanical testing spread across our national network of six testing laboratories. Additionally we offer design and analysis services to support all testing. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the development of a CAD repository for existing fixtures and tooling. The ideal candidate has CAD experience is excited and motivated to contribute to the EUSSD CAD repository and curious about US defense aerospace and spacetesting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify document and measure existing fixtures and tooling to develop CAD models in SolidWorks 2025.
- Add CAD models to SolidWorks PDM repository.
- Receive feedback from the EUSSD team and incorporate into CAD files.
- Perform other duties as may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Physics.
- Experience developing CAD models in SOLIDWORKS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.)
- Extensive background check and US Citizenship will be required and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information
- Ability to work at the Fullerton CA facility.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to other EUSSD facilities especially the Santa Clarita CA facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in the use of GD&T principles.
- Ability to work in a project team environment and share skills and knowledge with others.
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation and SolidWorks PDM.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
