Senior Investment Professional EQMC Fund
Location: Madrid Spain
EQMC Fund part of Alantra Asset Management is seeking a Senior Investment Professionalto join its Madrid-based investment team.
This is an opportunity for an experienced investment professional to contribute across the full investment lifecycle from idea generation and fundamental analysis to portfolio monitoring engagement with companies and fund-related business development initiatives. The role is suited to someone with strong analytical judgement intellectual curiosity ownership mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a demanding entrepreneurial environment.
Role description
As part of the investment team your responsibilities will include:
Investment analysis and research
- Identify assess and develop potential investment and divestment opportunities through deep qualitative and quantitative research
- Develop differentiated investment theses and prepare investment and divestment recommendations for discussion with the Investment Committee
- Contribute to portfolio construction discussions including position sizing risk/reward assessment and capital allocation.
Engagement with portfolio companies
- Contribute to the funds engagement initiatives including the identification of value creation levers governance considerations strategic alternatives and capital allocation opportunities
- Lead and support engagement interactions with management teams boards shareholders advisers and other relevant stakeholders
- Monitor existing investments by tracking financial performance strategic developments industry trends market events and relevant corporate actions.
Broader contribution to the fund
- Support the core business needs of the fund including investor materials quarterly reporting marketing initiatives trading-related analysis client requests and other ad-hoc projects
- Contribute proactively to internal discussions on the continued development of the platform.
Requirements:
Candidate profile: We are looking for candidates with:
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience ideally in equity research investment banking private equity hedge funds asset management or strategy consulting
- Relevant international experience with working proficiency in English while Spanish and other European languages would be advantageous.
- Well-rounded analytical profile with demonstrated ability to connect research insights with financial impact and investment outcomes
- Sound judgement on corporate governance management incentives and shareholder value creation
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong people skills ability to work under pressure and a clear tilt towards taking ownership and working with limited guidanc
