Role Summary
As a Manufacturing Engineer at MacLean-Fogg you will design develop and improve industrial manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency reduce waste and enhance product quality. Utilizing expertise in product design materials tooling and production equipment the Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring smooth production flows meeting quality standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Type: Full-Time/Salary (Exempt)
Pay Range: $70000 - $90000 (depending on skills and experience)
Work Location: Onsite - Buffalo NY
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and optimize workforce utilization production workflows and equipment layouts to maximize manufacturing efficiency and minimize waste. Design or modify equipment and workspace layouts to enhance production flow and space utilization.
Estimate production times staffing requirements and related costs to support management decision-making and ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Effectively communicate manufacturing capabilities production schedules and technical specifications to internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth production operations.
Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications procure equipment and materials and manage part orders to support production requirements. Ensure timely delivery of materials and components to avoid production delays.
Evaluate products materials and processes to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Implement corrective actions when necessary to address any quality issues in production.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for production processes specifications and improvements. Ensure all records are compliant with company and industry standards.
Adhere to 5S standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow all safety environmental and quality policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancement cost reduction and efficiency gains within manufacturing operations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic to intermediate understanding of manufacturing processes materials tooling and production equipment.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions.
Ability to estimate production times manage tasks within deadlines and support planning efforts.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation production processes and quality evaluations.
Eagerness to contribute to process improvement initiatives and adapt to new technologies and methods.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering or related field.
0-2 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Required to stand for extended periods.
Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending and stooping required.
Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
Must be able to work in noisy environments.
