Apprentice Low Voltage Technician
We are seeking an Apprentice Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team supporting commercial low voltage and structured cabling projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in the low voltage/telecommunications industry with a company willing to train the right individual.
The ideal candidate is dependable eager to learn mechanically inclined and has a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Previous low voltage experience is helpful but not required - candidates who are tech savvy good with their hands and interested in learning the trade are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist with pulling and routing low voltage cabling in commercial environments
- Perform ceiling cable pulls utilizing 8-foot ladders
- Support lead technicians with cable termination and device installation
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and learning low voltage systems and infrastructure
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times
- Travel between project sites as needed
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to project sites on time
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working on ladders and in ceiling spaces
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
- Ability to lift carry and move materials/equipment throughout the workday
- Ability to understand and follow directions from lead technicians
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with low voltage structured cabling construction electrical or related hands-on work
- Basic understanding of how technology/cabling systems function
- Experience using basic hand tools
Required Tools/PPE
Candidates should have:
- PPE (hard hat safety vest safety glasses work boots gloves as required) - Reimbursement applicable
- Multi-tool screwdriver
- Cable snips/crimpers
