Job Summary

The AOD Case manager is responsible for ensuring an effective high-quality delivery of rehabilitation services to individual clients. This will involve building strong and influential relationships for the purpose of providing alcohol and other drug (AOD) specialist support required to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation from (AOD) problematic

use including volatile substances and co-morbidity. Provided support is to be culturally sensitive and compliant with the structured program and service delivery agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure client admission file is completed in accordance with regulations including assessment and signed informed consent paperwork to access other relevant information.
  • Work with clients to develop a personal Recovery plan.
  • Monitor and record all client needs and progress including daily appointments.
  • Provide or facilitate both individual/ group therapy and counselling sessions.
  • Coordinate client appointments business and recreational activities / outings as required including family visits and cultural activities.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders agencies and service providers in a prompt and professional manner.
  • To develop an ethical and confidential working relationship with individual clients to provide the appropriate support.
  • Collaborate with the aftercare coordinator to develop a client aftercare plan.
  • Participate in supervision and case reviews.
  • Participate in planning and program reviews as required.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and statistical duties as required.
  • Undertake other duties as required by management.

Remuneration package:

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $82043.37 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits:

  • 1 RDO per Month

Location: This position is based at Kalanos Venndale Rehabilitation Centre 30km from Katherine.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday

Experience & Skills:

  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs (or willing to obtain)
  • Case Management skills and experience
  • Training or experience in rehabilitation and/or withdrawal services.
  • Excellent communication and literacy skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplined client base including persons who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
  • Competent use of Information Technology including software such as Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with Indigenous persons and Cultural Awareness.
  • Knowledge and understanding of case management principles and practices.
  • Good time-management and organizational skills.

Mandatory before commencement:

  • Current NT Drivers License
  • National Police Check
  • Working With Childrens Clearance (Ochre Card)
