Job Overview
A leading acute care trauma hospital in Syracuse is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong pediatric emergency experience excellent triage skills and experience working in high-acuity trauma environments.
Shift Details
- Night Shift 3x12s
- Hours: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Some holidays required
- 13-week assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced ED setting
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage evaluations
- Deliver acute patient care with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams during emergency interventions
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management
- Support trauma and critical care procedures as needed
Requirements
- Active New York RN License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ER experience
- Strong pediatric triage experience required
- Formal triage training required
- Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Adult ED experience is a plus
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Experience in large acute care hospitals or trauma centers
