Pay Rate:$25.00/hour
Location: Onsite Richmond CA 94804
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday through Friday 7:00 AM 3:30/4:00 PM
Duration: 6-Month Assignment
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory / Cycle Count Specialist to support parts room operations within a beverage plant environment.
This role is responsible for improving inventory accuracy organizing parts storage updating system records and supporting plant staff with parts availability. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory control cycle counting parts room operations and maintaining organized warehouse or maintenance inventory environments.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail physical movement throughout the facility and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The primary goal of this assignment is to ensure the parts room is fully organized inventory records are accurate and all part descriptions quantities and locations are standardized by the end of the 6-month project.
Key Responsibilities
Cycle Count Inventory
- Conduct ongoing cycle counts throughout the assignment to verify inventory quantities
- Identify discrepancies and make corrections to improve inventory accuracy
- Support mid-assignment and final inventory audits
Inventory System Updates
- Enter missing parts into the inventory system
- Update incomplete or inaccurate part descriptions
- Correct quantities and ensure all inventory records are complete and accurate
- Standardize categories descriptions and storage locations
Parts Room Organization
- Reorganize shelving and storage layouts for maximum efficiency
- Label shelves and parts according to company standards
- Maintain a clean safe and organized parts room environment
Excess Parts Processing
- Identify excess misplaced or untracked parts located outside the parts room
- Determine what should be returned to inventory
- Properly shelve and stock excess or newly identified parts
Team Support
- Assist technicians and plant team members with locating parts
- Answering questions regarding inventory availability and storage locations
- Support operational efficiency by ensuring quick access to needed materials
Project Timeline
Month 1
- Initial cycle counts
- Identify missing descriptions and incorrect quantities
- Begin shelf organization and labeling
Months 23
- Full system cleanup
- Add and update all part descriptions
- Process excess parts and return them to inventory
Months 45
- Deep cycle counts and inventory corrections
- Finalize organization of shelves and storage areas
Month 6
- Final audit preparation
- Confirm inventory accuracy
- Document completed improvements for project handoff
Required Qualifications
- 1 4 years of experience in inventory control parts room operations warehouse support or a similar role
- Experience with parts inventory procedures and cycle counting
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and standard PC programs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in an onsite plant environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Candidates with prior beverage food manufacturing production plant or industrial maintenance inventory experience will stand out most.
