DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE
Performance Responsibilities:
- Conforms with all state and local laws and regulations regarding school maintenance and transportation.
- Oversees the recruitment and training of maintenance and custodial personnel. Makes recommendations concerning their employment transfer promotion or release to the Assistant Superintendent for Operations.
- Maintains safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations and develops a program of preventive safety.
- Assists the Assistant Superintendent for Operations with the preparation and administering of the maintenance budget.
- Authorizes purchases in accordance with maintenance budget limitations and school district regulations.
- Develops recommendations for future equipment and personnel needs.
- Oversees the preparation of the maintenance payroll.
- Submits all reports required by state local and insurance authorities.
- Orders receives warehouses and inventories materials and supplies for custodians and maintenance workers.
- Coordinates warehousing and delivery of maintenance supplies and materials.
- Prepares or secures cost estimates in time labor and materials for necessary repairs.
- Assists the Assistant Superintendent for Operations in developing and maintaining an inventory of all school property.
- Assists the Assistant Superintendent for Operations in developing a replacement schedule for school property.
- Conducts with the principal annual inspections of each school building with to evaluate troublesome maintenance problems and evaluate cleaning procedures.
- Meets with vendor representatives for product awareness and ordering of stock items.
- Coordinates in-service training scheduling of work for maintenance and custodial personnel.
- Attends appropriate committee and staff meetings.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Operations or the Superintendent.
