Trust for Nature is a not-for-profit conservation organisation that works to protect native plants and wildlife in cooperation with private landholders. Established in 1972 under the Victorian Conservation Trust Act 1972 (Vic) Trust for Nature has a strongtrack recordof securing permanent protection for important conservation land across Victoria.

About the role

We are seeking a Conservation Program Manager to lead the delivery of Trust for Natures core conservation programswithintheNorth Eastregionof Victoria.

Thisrole isintegralin the delivery of Trust for Natures key conservation programs including the Covenanting Stewardship Offsets Revolving Fund to the Area Manager the primary focus of the role is to deliver the Stewardship Program in theGoulburn-Brokencatchment thisinvolves working closely with existing landholders and potential new conservation covenantors.

The rolerequires familiarity with conservation and land management principles as well as Victorias Ecological Vegetation Classes flora and faunaandwillbe tasked withprovidingexpert advice on conservation and land management practices.

Regular fieldwork and travel across the region are core requirements of the role.

Whatson offer

This is an ongoing Part-time 0.8 FTE workplace is supportive of Flexible work and work from home arrangements.

The role offers a base salary of $90606 p.a. plus 12 % super ($72484.8 pro rata for 0.8 FTE).

The role will be based in theGoulburn-Brokenarea and involves regular travel throughoutNorth Eastregion. A local office is based inWangarattaand office attendance will be a regular part of this role.

About you

You are a conservation professional with strong ecological knowledge practical field experience and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. You bring sound judgementstrong communicationskills and the ability to manage complex landholder relationships.

You will also bring;

At least 5 years of field-work experience

Degree in natural resource management ecology or other environmental science

Strong understanding of land management practices including relevant Victorian legislation and understanding of Ecological Vegetation Communities flora and fauna common threats and recommended management actions.

Demonstratedability to manage and work through complex issues andutilizeexcellent time management skills and flexibility to reprioritisework load.

Experience negotiating with a range of stakeholders including land managers.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical report writing.

Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce is desirable

A current drivers licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region

In this role your work will directly support the long-term protection and management of Victorias private land contributing to meaningful conservation outcomes across the landscape.
