The Clinical Supervisor ensures the delivery of safe high-quality and cost-effective patient care through effective staffing resource management and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. This role supports patient flow oversees daily operations and promotes a positive accountable work environment aligned with Mercys mission and service standards.

Position Details:

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees patient care delivery using the nursing process and ensures coordination of care based on patient needs and staff competency

  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels and collaborates on patient flow and bed management

  • Serves as a leader mentor and role model; provides feedback coaching and accountability

  • Promotes a positive work environment and staff engagement through shared governance and recognition

  • Communicates effectively with leadership staff and providers; escalates issues as needed

  • Supports regulatory compliance policy adherence and accreditation standards

  • Participates in performance improvement quality initiatives and root cause analyses

  • Addresses patient concerns and supports service recovery to improve satisfaction

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:

  • Current RN license

Experience:

  • 35 years of hospital nursing experience

Certifications:

  • AHA Healthcare Provider (required or within probation)

  • TNCC ACLS and ENPC or PALS (as applicable)

Skills

  • Strong clinical and leadership skills

  • Effective communication and problem-solving

  • Ability to support staff development and ensure quality patient care
