UnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Lukes offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center Siouxlands premier birth center 24/7 cardiovascular care and Level III emergency addition UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Lukes College which provides high-quality health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care.

• St. Lukes Regional Medical Center serves 17500 people in a three-state region of Iowa Nebraska and South Dakota
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

• Hybrid position working a mix of shifts in the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)
  • ED: 9-hour shifts Monday -Friday (8a-5p 11a-9p 10p-7a)
  • ED: 12-hour shifts Saturday Sunday (7a-7p 7p-7a)
  • Clinic Decision Unit: 6-hour shifts Monday Friday (8a-2p)
• 0.9 FTE 72 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
• Annual ED visit volume 33000
• Average ED patients per day 89
• Average 1.2-1.6 patients per hour in ED
• 40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day in ED
• Level 3 Trauma Center
• 22 bed ED 12 bed clinical decision unit 10 bed fast track 2 trauma bays
• APPs manage CDU with physician oversight
• Integral part of the Emergency Medicine team
• Ability to see broad range of patient complaints and practice to top of your license
• No call good work/life balance
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) analytical and problem-solving skills

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience preferrably in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
