FINANCIAL RISK MANAGER (FMD)
Job Summary
We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our team as Financial Risk Manager at the Ignitis this role you will participate in developing and implementing a unified Group Financial Risk Management framework focusing on consistent risk identification assessment measurement monitoring and oversight. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine your quantitative skills and energy market expertise to address realworld challenges faced by a multinational energy group with diverse risk exposures (power natural gas heat EUA guarantees of origin property rights arising from certificates of origin) across multiple markets (Baltics Poland Finland). You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Shaping and implementing the most effective Financial Risk Management framework together with the Risk team that fits the Companys business purpose ensuring consistent identification assessment measurement monitoring and oversight of financial risk exposures across the Group. Market risk management is the primary focus in this role
- Embedding value-adding financial risk management practices into business activities and overseeing their performance by proposing and implementing risk measurement tools (VaR/EaR/CFaR) and stress tests for relevant market liquidity and credit risk exposures
- Performing model validation and backtesting of risk measurement models
- Proposing rules assumptions and procedures for risk related processes (exposure reporting risk measurement limit setting and verification risk reporting)
- Partnering with different businesses units across the Group by providing risk-based insights (assumptions validation risk quantification effectiveness of the hedging activity etc.)
- Preparing periodical management and oversight risk reports
- Contributing to common Group Risk Management framework development and/or Risk function purpose-driven initiatives and must-do tasks
Qualifications :
- University degree in Finance Economics Mathematics or related field with a strong numerical foundation
- 2-3 years of experience in financial risk management (preferably commodity price risk) / trading in energy natural gas or related products (EUA Guarantees of Origin)
- Solid understanding of the energy market fundamentals:
- market structure (energy groups Power Exchanges Balancing markets DSO/TSO roles) with particular focus on Polish and Baltics energy markets
- energy group operations (production wholesale retail)
- available products (BASE/PEAK spot vs forward markets PPA)
- understanding of renewable energy characteristics would be a plus
- Strong analytical / quantitative skills (understanding of risk models VaR/EaR/CFaR metrics Monte Carlo methods) business acumen and ability to identify key risk drivers and their impacts
- Good understanding of credit and liquidity management concepts
- Advanced knowledge of Python VBA or R with proven ability to work with large datasets and integrate them for risk management purposes as well as a solid understanding of relevant libraries/packages used for calculations and data visualization. Experience with GitHub would be a plus
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent English language skills
