The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Suspense Specialist in our Submissions Processing Division. This is a full-time in-state teleworking position.

The key responsibility of this area is to timely post suspended paper and electronic documents to taxpayer accounts. Team members have knowledge of ITAS and PSRM tax schedules including all the different forms associated with the tax types. Team members often work closely with the Distribution Unit and other divisions within NCDOR to ensure suspended returns are posted according to administered guidelines and to understand tax laws and form changes. They consult with Administrative Officers in various divisions as needed for complex items. Support in working suspended items is also provided to other areas within NCDOR.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

  • Knowledge of general office procedures methods and practices with proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft and mainframe applications

  • Intermediate keying and typing skills with experience using an adding machine

  • Experience with analyzing problem solving and interpreting data leading to appropriate actions with processing tax returns

  • Ability to meet and maintain work performance standards for quality and quantity

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a group setting or while working independently

Recruitment Range: $39244.00 - S43000.00

Minimum Education and Experience
