Equipment Operator

CEDA is looking to hire approximately three Equipment Operators for our Fort McMurray AB location. CEDA will be working with one of their clients to reassemble their entire dredge as well as assemble a marina and an electrical barge on site.

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining dredging equipment. This position supports the training development and mentoring of other Equipment Operators and Helpers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators dozers loaders and articulated haul trucks to support dredging activities
• Feed dredge systems by excavating and stockpiling suitable material
• Manage tailings slurry discharge areas and containment zones
• Assist with building and maintaining berms dikes and containment structures
• Support dredge mobilization and demobilization by clearing and leveling sites
• Maintain safe working distances around floating or land-based dredge equipment
• Perform assembly work including installation alignment fitting and dismantling of industrial equipment
• Rig lift move and secure heavy loads using cranes hoists and slings
• Work safely and comfortably around heavy lifts and suspended loads
• Strictly follow and enforce all safety requirements and procedures
• Perform all other related duties as assigned

Role Specifications

• Experience operating a zoom boom and/or telehandler (certification considered an asset)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform minor repairs
• Physically capable of demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
