About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Veterinarian (DVM) to join and help lead a growing modern small-animal veterinary hospital in the Boston area. This is a high-impact clinical leadership role focused on delivering excellent patient care while supporting the development of a multi-doctor team and contributing to future expansion including extended 7-day operations.
This role is ideal for a veterinarian who combines strong clinical expertise with leadership capability and is interested in progressing toward Director of Operations / Hospital Leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animals (primarily dogs and cats)
- Diagnose treat and manage a wide range of medical conditions
- Perform routine soft-tissue surgery and dental procedures
- Administer vaccinations and deliver preventive wellness care
- Collaborate with Hospital Management and Regional Operations leadership to maintain clinical excellence
- Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical staff
- Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care
- Support hospital growth workflow optimization and team development
- Maintain high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience in small-animal veterinary clinical practice
- Strong competency in diagnostics surgery dentals and preventive care
- Experience working in a multi-doctor veterinary hospital or private practice
- Demonstrated leadership experience or readiness to step into a clinical leadership role
- Eligibility for Connecticut veterinary licensure (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Strong communication collaboration and client service skills
Preferred experience: Medical Director Lead Veterinarian Senior DVM or experience in multi-site or corporate veterinary organizations.
