SmartSkin Technologies provides manufacturing optimization solutions globally to the food beverage & pharmaceutical sectors. SmartSkin serves the worlds largest pharmaceutical companies and all major beverage brands with its patented and award-winning Quantifeel sensor and software solutions. While most of our engineering and production activities are undertaken in New Brunswick Canada our global presence is increasing with team members located in major centers in North America and Europe.
SmartSkin Technologies is looking for a Production Assistant to our growing team. This in-person position reports to our Fredericton office and is responsible for supporting the production team through verifying inspecting and preparing materials before they enter the assembly process. This entry level role provides the required training and opportunity for growth into advanced roles in our assembly team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and willing to learn electronic assembly processes within a fast paced team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive materials from the warehouse and measure the critical features (function value dimension cosmetics form and fitting etc.) of parts before they enter the production process
- Make minor modifications to parts by hand or via tooling to ensure major features match the requirements detailed in product specification drawings
- Follow the Working Instruction document to prepare pre-assembly level kits for final assembly by the production team
- Support the maintenance and editing of work instructions and documents
- Monitor the shop floor material inventory and report its aging and quantity variance to assembly and operations managers
- Other inventory control activities as required
Qualifications:
- Experience working with electronic components circuitry and basic hand tools is an asset
- Basic knowledge and understanding of electronics and electronic components
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to understand and follow technical documents and drawings
- Commitment to industrial standards and safety
- Willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
