The Maclay School is seeking a Varsity Assistant Football Coach for the upcoming season.

Under the direction of the director of athletics the coach oversees the skill development planningand scheduling of the team throughout the season. The Maclay School prides itself on a rich academic and athletic success history. Developing student-athletesof equal passion and character is a priority of our program. Candidatesshould have knowledge and experience ofthe sportand understand how to teach mentorand motivate student-athletes.

This is a seasonal position running August through October

  • Adherence to all school and FHSAA policies and regulations as well as the Honor Code and sportsmanship expected by the Maclay School and its athletic programs.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in your sport with preference given tocandidates who have

    • Coached at the collegiate and/or high school level.

    • Competed at the collegiate level or possesssubstantial high school experience.

    • Club coaching experience.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that includesthe ability to travel to practices and games some of which may be scheduled on weekends;

    • Practices traditionally run from 3:00 pmending between 5:30 and 6:00 pm on weekdays. Weekend practice times varyby sport.

  • First Aid and CPR training - or willing to be trained;

  • A love for working with young people and a commitment to an inclusive community;

  • Work for this position will take place primarily in the Gymnasiums/fields and secondarily in an office.

  • The physical demands of this position include lifting up to 10 pounds regularly up to 25 pounds intermittently and up to 50 pounds rarely; carrying up to 10 pounds often up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds intermittently; climbing/balancing and crawling rarely; pushing/pulling kneeling and crouching intermittently; reaching bending and stooping regularly; sitting walking and standing often.

  • To perform this job the person must be able to work for extended periods of time at a computer/keyboard; must be able to talk hear stand sit and/or walk for extended periods of time; and must possess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Conditions may exist that create exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
