InterContinental The Clement Monterey is looking for a dependable skilled and service-oriented Maintenance Engineer II to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance functionality and safety of the hotel while helping deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Position Overview: The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for the daily maintenance repair and upkeep of the hotel including guest rooms public areas restaurant spaces back-of-house areas and hotel grounds. This position performs general maintenance tasks involving plumbing electrical HVAC mechanical systems painting carpentry and preventative maintenance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests
• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
• Troubleshoot HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical systems
• Repair and maintain guest room fixtures lighting furniture and equipment
• Assist with painting drywall carpentry and renovation projects
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of hotel facilities and grounds
• Support hotel operations with professionalism and urgency
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout protocols
• Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to support guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance or trade experience preferred
• Hotel maintenance experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical and general building maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors/outdoors as needed
