• Provides clinical oral hygiene services including but not limited to dental prophylaxis scaling sealant application fluoride application x-rays and dental impressions.
  
  
• Conducts initial mouth screening checks oral health history and conducts oral cancer screenings.
  
  
• Maintains patient documentation paper charts and electronic dental records. Records patient-hygienist transactions so that the dental record accurately reflects the nature of the contact and the care or treatment provided.
  
  
• Provides preventative oral health education to patients either in person or virtually.
  
  
• Assists the Dentist with appropriate treatments and performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law.
  
  
• Sterilizes dental equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  
  
• Maintains the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Log.

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
