Job Summary
Native Title Services Goldfields (NTSG) is the recognised native title service provider for the Goldfields Region of Western Australia. Our staff are a dedicated highly motivated and team-oriented group operating in a fast paced complex and dynamic working environment.
Our primary function is to protect and advance the native title rights and interests of the native title claimants and holders of the Goldfields Region. This includes assisting native title claimants to have their native title rights and interests recognised by the Australian legal system.
We have a unique opportunity for two qualified lawyers to join our team and work in a rewarding and hands on environment. We would love to hear from junior to senior lawyers who are interested in supporting and advancing the interests of native title claimants and holders across the Goldfields region.
About the role:
These new roles will play a critical part in supporting our mission and advancing our vision by providing highlevel legal advice representation and project support to native title claimants Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) and internal teams.
Working as part of project teams you will contribute to native title claims future act processes mining and land tenure matters and related negotiations. You will collaborate closely with anthropologists community relations professionals other lawyers the Principal Lawyer Counsel and other internal and external stakeholders while supporting and empowering native title holders through legal advocacy education and capacity building.
This is a varied role requiring strong legal expertise sound judgement excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
About you:
You are a motivated lawyer with a strong interest in native title and Aboriginal land matters. You enjoy working collaboratively and are confident managing complex legal matters while engaging respectfully with Aboriginal communities and diverse stakeholders.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have:
- Appropriate legal qualifications be admitted to practice or eligible for admission to practice law in WA and in the Federal Court of Australia.
- Experience in provision of legal advice taking of instructions preparing legal documents and representing clients in mediations negotiations tribunals and/or courts.
- Ability to manage projects prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal communities.
- Highlevel written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel regularly including to remote locations
- A current WA drivers licence.
- Abilityto obtain a current National Police Clearance.
Previous native title experience will be highly regarded.
