PARENT FAMILY and COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Supervisor: Director of Special Programs
Salary Range: PSE Salary Schedule
Location/Assignment: Support Services
Conditions of Work :180 Days/ 7Hrs/day
SUMMARY:
The position of the Parent Family Engagement Coordinator facilitates and promotes activities that build partnerships. These activities include collaborating with school/district staff and community to enhance 2-way communication and provide important resources to address the diverse needs of parents and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Partner with school staff administration and other child/family advocates
- Foster relationships and confidence with parents staff and community
- Exhibit strong human relations communication and interpersonal skills
- Coordinate and facilitate parent groups and activities (i.e. Migrant Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Family Superintendent Advisory Committee (FSAC)
- Initiate and explore resources to support agendas trainings and activities offered to parents
- Collect organize and manage program documentation required for activities and meetings
- Confidently interpret and/or translate for meetings and events
- Participate in trainings and workshops to enhance professional skills related to job responsibilities
- Demonstrate time management and efficiency with multiple tasks and a varied schedule.
QUALIFICATONS:
- Experience with working with student and families of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
- Experience in the school setting preferred
- Spanish bilingual/biliterate required. (Skills will be assessed)
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to navigate and manage social media
- Experience with technology platforms to create flyers agendas and communications
- Ability to create digital and printed communication materials
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Valid WA state drivers license
