Night Custodian Sweeper (2026-2027) Overdale Elementary

Overdale Elementary is Looking for an Evening CustodianSweeper!

Individuals in the role perform routine custodial activities to maintain our school and adjacent grounds areas in a clean orderly and secure condition.

Position Details

Hours: 5.5hours per day

Contract Length:182 days per year

• 170 student instructional days
• 4 holidays
• 7 plannning days
• 1 extended day

Contract Adjustments:Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status: Full-time with benefits

Employment Type:10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
• High school diplomaor GED
• Documentation:Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

Salary for the 2026-2027 school year will be based on Board approved salary schedule.

2025-2026 Pay Scale

• Starting Pay (Step 0):$14.41/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10):$16.40/hour

We value experience!Previous experience working with students intervention systems and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable full-time verified experience.

• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note:While this is an hourly position the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
