Western National is seeking a Claims Training Lead to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to design develop and deliver comprehensive training programs across all property-and-casualty lines of business ensuring claims employees are equipped with the technical knowledge systems proficiency and claims handling skills necessary to drive quality outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role
- Leads the design and execution of the annual Claims Trainee Program including curriculum development facilitation and evaluation.
- Manages onboarding and structured training for new claims employees ensuring effective early-stage development.
- Develops and delivers training programs (instructor-led virtual and e-learning) for claims staff across property-and-casualty lines of business.
- Creates and maintains training materials and resources that support technical systems and professional skill development.
- Partners with claims leadership to identify training needs and align programs with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluates training effectiveness using assessments and performance metrics and implements continuous improvements.
- Provides coaching and ongoing learning support to reinforce knowledge and enhance employee performance.
- Maintains training documentation and ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Exercises independent judgment in the design and delivery of training programs and determines appropriate learning methods and tools.
- Collaborates with leadership to prioritize training initiatives that are aligned with organizational needs.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate
- Bachelors degree in business insurance education or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years of claims handling experience across multiple property-and-casualty lines of business.
- Strong instructional design and facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and practical learning experiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency with learning management systems and training technologies.
- Working knowledge of claims systems policy administration systems and standard office software.
What will our ideal candidate have
- Experience developing e-learning or blended learning programs.
- Prior coaching or mentoring experience.
- Experience in training delivery facilitation or instructional design.
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $83100 $114290 annually. However the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge skills credentials and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
