Peer Mentor Position Overview:Peer Mentor serves as informed and knowledgeable academic resources for new students in their first semester at Concordia University. The goal for peer mentors is to ease the adjustment to college life enhance student access to academic support services and encourage engagement in opportunities offered at CSP to support the students goals.
Essential Duties: - Serve as a resource for new first semester students
- Build a strong mentoring relationship
- Assist students in accessing academic support resources
- Encourage engagement
- Training
- Attend Peer Advisor Training (Late August)
- During the semester:
- Meeting individually with assigned students once a month and document interactions within Navigate 360
- Follow up on student alerts and work cases for assigned students
- Help students become familiar with CSP resources advise and refer students to appropriate resources as needs arise
- Notifying students of engagement opportunities that support their educational goals
- Coordinate a social activity/team-build event
- Help students become familiar with CSP Connect MyCourses Navigate
Education & Experience: - Completed at least 2 full semesters at Concordia University
- In good academic standing (preference to a CGPA of 2.50 or higher)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including excellent listening skills
- Outgoing and approachable personality
- Passionate about mentoring and working with new students
- Passionate about Concordia University

Work StudentEligibility and Enrollment Requirements for Work Study Eligibility: - Fall and Spring Semesters: Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergraduate)
- Summer Semester: Students must have summer enrollment or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester.
