About the Role:
To oversee the reservations for Seagars coordinate seating arrange and book groups. Creating a relationship with our guests positioning Seagars to monopolize on large group opportunities. Create a relationship with our Sales and Event Planning teams and group contacts to capitalize on group opportunities. Maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees private parties and larger group reservations through coordinating date and time number in-group special arrangements and menus for food and beverage. Works with Event Planning and Sales teams to assess group needs and communicate all group information to management and culinary staff. Meets and greets clients. Conducts restaurant tours. Supervises the overall set up and implementation of Seagars group events. Remains in attendance at all special events in Seagars until after dinners are served.
- Maintains consistent availability to perform job duties during the designated shift hours of 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm as scheduled.
- Pursues contacts actively through groups and individual guests to capture all possible large group business through traditional corporate networking methods and utilizing our in-house Sales Department as well as following up with past groups. Generates special event sales through direct proactive contact with businesses and groups. Works with Marketing Director on Seagars premium sales collateral.
- Manages daily reservations to ensure the maximization of the dining room while providing the highest level of guest experience. Provides training coaching and daily support to hosts to guarantee Seagars impeccable welcome experience. Oversees the welcoming and seating of guests though prime seating hours. Builds relationships with V.I.P. guests as the direct contact for any of their special requests. Communicates special requests and reservations notes consistently with the Seagars team at daily line up.
- Performs administrative duties. Creates detailed group sales comparison reports on a weekly basis reflecting activities and sales progress; communications with contracted groups including an overview of needs one week prior to each event and a handwritten Thank you note no later than one week following event.
- Coordinates and participates in Seagars involvement in community events both onsite and offsite events. Actively promote restaurant and private dining opportunities at these events.
- Creates and maintains a robust private dining program including group menus that include food liquor wine and related collateral for marketing and selling private events.
Supportive Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Maintains a list of V.I.P Seagars guests.
- Welcomes guests and group contacts as they arrive. Provides assistance at the host stand as needed allowing management to oversee the floor.
- Assists in keeping Seagars menu current and updating the wine iPad.
- Performs other duties as requested such as cleaning and assisting with side duties.
- Sends out holiday cards and keeps Seagars A List (Honors List) up to date.
- Maintains an open line of communication with guests and other departments within the Hotel.
- Ensures all necessary office supplies and guest materials including to-go menus menu paper etc. are in supply.
Job Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations to include appropriate staffing levels service equipment service standards and guest relations.
- Ability to read and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests memos reservations promotional materials event orders and similar written materials.
- Ability to remember recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels and events.
- A working knowledge of our wine and beverage list.
- Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Any combination of education training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
Experience:
Prior food and beverage experience required.
Licenses and Certificates:
Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
