Job Summary
Overview
As a Business Analyst/Test Engineer you will support Agile software delivery teams by translating mission and stakeholder needs into well-defined requirements validating solutions through testing and quality assurance activities and ensuring successful delivery of applications and data solutions within a federal environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders product owners developers and testers to define requirements develop acceptance criteria support testing efforts and ensure delivered solutions align with business objectives and user expectations. This role combines business analysis functional validation and quality assurance to improve delivery quality streamline processes and support continuous improvement initiatives across Agile teams.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with stakeholders product owners and technical teams to gather analyze refine and document business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs and epics into features user stories business rules and acceptance criteria that are clear testable and aligned to mission objectives.
- Develop and execute test plans test cases and validation procedures to ensure solutions meet functional business and user requirements.
- Perform functional regression data validation usability and accessibility (508) testing across applications and data systems.
- Identify document track and support resolution of defects and issues through collaboration with development teams and stakeholders.
- Validate implemented functionality against acceptance criteria and business expectations prior to release.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including coordination with stakeholders documenting results and tracking issues through resolution.
- Analyze current-state processes and workflows to identify opportunities for operational improvement automation and increased efficiency.
- Assist with testing and validation activities supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts.
- Produce high-quality documentation including process flows requirements documentation test artifacts gap analyses and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding requirements testing results risks and recommendations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree and 4 years of total experience
- 3 years of experience supporting business analysis testing and quality assurance activities within a federal environment
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Experience gathering analyzing and documenting business and functional requirements
- Experience developing and executing test plans test cases and defect tracking activities
- Experience supporting Agile software development teams and working within Agile methodologies
- Experience using tools such as JIRA Azure DevOps or similar Agile lifecycle management platforms
- Experience performing functional regression data validation and accessibility (508) testing
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to create clear concise documentation and present recommendations to stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience supporting cloud-based application or data modernization initiatives
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium Postman or similar technologies
- Experience documenting current-state and future-state workflows and conducting gap analyses
- Knowledge of DevSecOps concepts and CI/CD practices
- Local to Washington DC metro area

The projected compensation range for this position is $75000 to $140000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
