Reporting to the Executive Director the Director of Human Resources is responsible for managing the TH Governments human resources andlabourrelations functions programs services and processes in alignment with THs mission vision and strategic priorities and in accordance with applicable legislation and policies (including the TH Personnel Manual). Key functions include but are not limited to recruitmentselection training and development succession planning and performance managementlabourrelations and disciplinary processes occupational health and safety policy and legislative compliance and employee compensation and benefits. The incumbentis responsible formaintainingand developing the Departments information systemsidentifyingrisks and gaps that mayimpactthe well-functioning of the TH Government andfacilitatingorganizational change. The incumbentis responsible forsupporting and managing departmentjëje-in while respecting confidentiality andmaintaininga cohesive and productive working group. The incumbent works to create and foster a healthypositiveand respectful work environment within the TH Government wherejëje-indonot experienceharassment bullying and otherbehaviourthat negatively impact workplace morale and employee retention.

An Eligibility List may beestablishedfrom this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time termor auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

EssentialQualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree (preferably a masters degree) in human resources management or a related field of study combined withdemonstratedexperience working in human resources industrial relationslabourrelations capacity development education and training or similar profession. An equivalent combination of education knowledgeskillsand experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of experience administering human resources processes and procedures.
  • A minimum of three years ofdemonstratedexperience working in a management role supervisingjëje-in.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating employee relations mitigating employment risks conducting mediations and managing conflict in a workplace environment.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) and videoconferencing technologies.
  • Experience withfinancial management including budgets and resource management.
  • Experience developing strategic plansworkplansand implementing organizational change.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal Employment Legislation and Regulations CanadaLabourCodeCanadian Human Rights Actand Government of YukonsWorkers Safety and Compensation Act.

Assets:

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Experience implementing andutilizingHuman Resources Information Management Systems.
