We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Junior Draughtsman for assisting in the creation of technical drawings and 3D models using Solidworks. The role supports the drawing office in developing accurate design documentation for the manufacturing of Commercial Trailers etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Junior Draughtsman for assisting in the creation of technical drawings and 3D models using Solidworks. The role supports the drawing office in developing accurate design documentation for the manufacturing of Commercial Trailers etc.
Key Responsibilities

Create 2D technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
Interpret engineering sketches specifications and instructions.
Produce detailed manufacturing drawings including dimensions and tolerances.
Assist with design revisions and updates to existing drawings.
Maintain proper drawing control and version management.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards and engineering requirements.
Work closely with engineers project managers and production teams.

Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Draughting / Engineering Draughting.
13 years experience in draughting or technical drawing.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
Basic understanding of engineering drawings and standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical plans and layouts.

Preferred Skills

Experience in 3D modelling and assemblies in SolidWorks.
Knowledge of sheet metal design or mechanical components.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior trailer design and/or draughting experience which will be regarded as a significant advantage over other relevant industry experience.

Typical Duties

Assist senior draughtsman and Design Manager with project drawings.
Modify designs based on engineering feedback.
Produce assembly drawings and exploded views.
Ensure drawings are ready for manufacturing or fabrication.
