Job Summary
Position Summary
The Mechanic 2 is responsible for keeping all vehicles in the fleet roadworthy and ready for service when needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

- Performs all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet trucks/ trailers and other company equipment. Responsible for general day-to-day operation of vehicle maintenance and repair of all company trucks/trailers and other company equipment. Maintains clean environment.
- May be to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
- Interprets repair manuals and work orders as to properly repair the equipment.
- Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes that safety is top company priority; attends regularly scheduled safety meetings.
- Required to use all safety equipment as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED .
- Vocational training plus one (1) year of related work experience OR three (3) years of related work experience .
- Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
- Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
- Basic use of hand-tools .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational training preferred.
- Detail oriented; highly organized.
- CDL preferred not
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter; self-motivated.
- Good math and computer skills.

- Frequently - Exposed to Electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock
- Frequently - Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment
Physical Demands
- Frequently - Must be able to remain in a stationary position (Sit)
- Frequently - Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location (Walk)
- Frequently - Operates a computer and other office machinery (Use hands to finger handle or feel)
- Frequently - Must be able to position ones self to maintain computers in the lab including under desks and in the server closet (Stoop kneel crouch or crawl)
- Frequently - Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder (Climb or balance)
- Frequently - Must be able to use senses to; effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions (Talk hear taste smell)
