House Attendant- Housekeeping

Penick Village is seeking a dependable and service-oriented House Attendant to join our Housekeeping Department. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents guests and team members.

This is a Full-Time position hours will be 10:00am-6:00pm.

Purpose of Job Position:

To assist in directing the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Penick Village with emphasis on the safety health and care of the Residents. To assure the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times. The House Attendant:

Must provide courteous service to patients residents staff and visitors.

Must be able to perform routine job duties on a continual basis and perform job duties despite frequent interruptions.

Must be flexible in regard to hours job assignment and location of job assignment on and within the community.

Have the ability to work with others.

On Call rotation schedule.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean windows with and without the use of a ladder or telescopic pole.

Shampoo carpet with a floor machine.

Buff floors with a floor machine.

Strip and scrub floors with a floor machine and a wet/dry vacuum.

Mop floors with the use of a mop wringer and bucket.

Move furniture and appliances with assistance if needed using proper body mechanics.

Hang drapes with or without the assistance of a ladder.

Unload and stock supplies.

Clean Outdoor Stations.

Pick up and trash to dumpster. Ask for assistance if needed.

Flip and turn mattresses with assistance if needed using proper body mechanics.

High dusting with or without the use of a ladder or telescopic pole.

Clean lights with or without the use of a ladder.

Tear down beds and reassemble.

Vacuum drapes mini blinds and verticals with or without the use of a ladder.

Clean woodwork.

Help with room event set up.

Clean wheelchairs shower chairs and Geri chairs.

Transport linen to and from the Health Care Building (Terrace) Cottages Woodlands Parkview Wharton and any other location on campus.

Clean housekeeping equipment as needed. Report repairs as needed.

Maintain truck in a clean and safe manner. Maintain routine oil changes and inspections. Report repairs as needed.

Maintain lift on truck in a safe manner. Service as needed. Report any repairs as needed.

Follow your assigned cleaning schedule at all times changes are only made by your direct supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

Must have a valid North Carolina Driver License and a good driving record.

Must have ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Must know how to use simple housekeeping equipment.

Must have good attitude and be willing to accept supervision.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents staff and visitors.

Some initiative involved in cleaning to be done.
