Job Summary
About the Role:
The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical/Telemetry plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to individuals with a variety of medical and surgical conditions including those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This position involves comprehensive assessment planning implementation and evaluation of nursing care tailored to each patients unique needs. The nurse collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety. Additionally the role demands vigilant monitoring of telemetry equipment and timely recognition of cardiac arrhythmias or other complications. Ultimately the nurse contributes to enhancing patient recovery and satisfaction through compassionate evidence-based care and effective communication. We have both days and nights available
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state or jurisdiction.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience as a RN in med surg or Tele unit OR experiencedin LTACH subacute or acute
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience working in a telemetry or medical-surgical unit.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patients continuously using telemetry equipment promptly identifying and responding to cardiac events or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians specialists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and adjust patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses treatments and post-discharge care to promote health and prevent complications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and institutional standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
