Job Summary

Position Type: Temporary April - August 2026
Position Description:
The Field Coordinator PPDR is integral to the AmeriCorps private property debris removal to support residents impacted by the May 16 tornado in St. Louis City. The Field Coordinator PPDR will have responsibilities for training coordination and leadership to ensure a positive and safe experience for crew members. The Field Coordinator PPDR must have the ability to assist in personnel management equipment maintenance and training delivery in technical and personal development skills. Both office and field operations are required by this position and a flexible schedule is a necessity.

Responsibilities:

Program & Field Support
  • Ensure project quality by providing oversight to PPDR crew(s) in the field
  • Provide technical expertise guidance and correction to crew members
  • Communicate directly with disasters survivors for weekly worksite scheduling
  • Model risk management procedures in the field to create a safe environment
  • Monitor safety / medical incidents and field and respond to emergency situations
  • Maintain partnerships with community and project partners through regular project reporting and meeting participation
  • Monitor and maintain overall program policy compliance as it relates to ACSTL guidelines
Development & Training
  • Provide encouragement support and supervision to crew leads
  • Observe crew members to ensure adherence to quality standards policies and procedures and provide timely and relevant coaching and/or resources as needed
  • Contribute to HR documentation including performance feedback discipline timekeeping etc.
General Administration
  • Manage database entry for accurate work order status reporting
  • Oversee and maintain supply inventory tool cache and vehicle use
  • Approve crew member timesheets for payroll
  • Work within an established program budget; manage credit cards receipts and financial reporting.
SALARY & BENEFITS
  • $42000 - $46000 salary based on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years experience with direct oversight of field work and team leadership
  • Ability to problem-solve and respond competently to situations associated with managing young adults
  • Working knowledge of disaster response debris removal and chainsaw use
  • Initiative to act independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain clean and insurable driving record & valid drivers license
  • Must pass criminal history background checks
DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and facilitating training
  • S-212 B or Level 2 Faller certification or 2 years professional chainsaw use
  • First Aid / CPR certification
  • Prior AmeriCorps or service program experience
  • Professional written/verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility adaptability and capacity to work in a fluid changing work environment
  • Bachelors Degree

SITE CONDITIONS

This position is required to sit stand walk speak and hear periodically climb balance hike bend exert maximum muscle force to lift push pull or carry objects. They must be able to operate a computer and drive a program vehicle. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals to perform the essential functions. Regular Schedule: 40-hour workweek currently with 10-hr days; occasional weekends or evenings as needed.

Travel: This position requires a significant percentage of time at worksite locations in the City of St. Louis.
