Apprentice Butcher (2nd Year onwards)

Merriwa Supa IGA is seeking a motivated Apprentice Butcher to join the supermarket meat department. This role is suited to someone currently completing their apprenticeship who is looking to continue developing practical skills in a fast paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with meat cutting trimming and preparation under supervision
- Support the preparation and presentation of meat products
- Help maintain clean organised and well stocked displays
- Follow workplace health and safety food safety hygiene and stock rotation procedures.
- Assist customers with basic product enquiries in a professional manner
Work alongside qualified butchers to further develop trade skills
- Currently undertaking a Butchery Apprenticeship
- Basic knife skills and understanding of meat preparation
- Willingness to learn and develop trade skills
- Reliable punctual and able to work in a team environment
- Understanding of workplace safety and hygiene practices
- Availability to work weekends
- Supportive and experienced team environment
- Ongoing training and development within your apprenticeship
