In this position you will be reporting directly to Quality Lead - Assembly and will be responsible for manufacturing quality readiness of the Welland facility. You will support quality processes related to the manufacturing of new units and collaborate cross-functionally within the Waukesha business unit. You will utilize and expand your understanding of quality theories analytical practices continuous improvement concepts and coordination principles in all parts of the manufacturing function pertaining to Product Quality. You will provide technical guidance conduct investigative analysis and leverage interdisciplinary inputs to deliver a high-quality product to our customers while ensuring adherence to internal quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and execution of all Quality Assurance activities to ensureproducedproducts comply and conform to all regulatory QMS customerand Engineering requirements.
- Overseeandassumeprimaryownershipofquality processes and detected nonconformances originating from assignedproduct linesand/or manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with othermembers of theProduction Quality team to jointly manageMRBprocess relatedactivities as it relates to your assigned product lines and/or manufacturing processes(or as needed/instructed).
- Apply critical Quality concepts to support advise report and/ordevelopcorrective and preventative actions forencounteredconcerns nonconformances and assignments.
- Responsible for driving improvements for primary quality metrics related tobusiness Quality Objectives and resulting KPIs.
- Coordinateand/or executecontainment sorting rework/repair concessionactivitiesfor external and internal issues.
- Participateand/orcoordinateroot causeanalysis techniquesforinvestigationactivitiesstemming from nonconformance investigations(8DDMAIC PDCA5 Why fishbone etc.).
- Support the Zero Defect plan andparticipatein continuousimprovementsinitiatives.
- Monitor for andanalyze trendsin nonconformance data orrecurringissues.
- Drive for complete issue resolutionby ensuring thoroughnessof all prerequisite investigation closure conditions.
- Evaluate products services and proceduralconformance as it relates tospecification compliancecustomer requirementsandQMSadherence.
- Expand ones own and advocate a continuous improvementand customer focusmindset.
- Navigate various internalelectronicsystemsdatabases and programsto compile reportand/orascertainfactual data needed for decision making or problem solving.
- Utilizenumerousprecision measurement equipment and apply metrological concepts to measure gage or inspecta vast range of products components or assemblies for conformity.
- Collect and compileneeded standardized details/datatogenerate andconveynonconformance reports to other cross-functional areas ( quality etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in theappropriate disciplineand 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in theappropriate disciplineand 3 years of relevant the absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience isrequired.
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Fluent ability to interprettechnicalengineeringdrawingsandGD&T principlesand conduct calculations as needed.
- Experience ininternal combustion engine assembly testing and/or designbe considered an asset.
- Related workqualityexperience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Automotive would be an asset).
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineeror Certified Quality Techniciancertification an asset.
- Knowledge of SPC Six Sigma techniques Lean Manufacturing PFMEAand quality problem solving principals (8D DMAIC etc.)
- Strong communication organizationalinterpersonaland analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
- Flexible to work in shifts.
