Boiler Attendant

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking an Boiler Attendant to work in our tomato paste pizza sauce salsa peeled pear canned tomatoes crushed tomatoes tomato puree and tomato sauce production area in Escalon CA. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality driven. Candidates must be able to work in a team in a fast paced work environment. This position requires individuals on duty alone and/or in charge under the superintendent supervisor or head mechanic for the efficient operation maintenance and repair of all boiler equipment.

Benefits & Compensation Overview:

• Sick Pay- available after successful completion of 90 days of employment
• Holidays- 10 Company Paid Holidays/year subject to certain requirements
• Hourly Wage Rate: $40.00 (will increase to $41.00 on 07/01/2026 per CBA language). Shift differential of $0.10 for second shift $0.15 for third shift
• Union facility

Work Schedule:

Off Season schedule: 6:00AM - 2:30PM.
Harvest Season schedule (July - October): 10:00PM - 6:30AM or 2:00PM - 10:30PM (Depending on seniority due to union environment).

Overtime may be available based on business need

Potential work opportunities during the months of November-June performing boiler operations and preventative maintenance.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented hard-working Boiler Attendant with boiler experience. Your responsibilities would include maintaining inventory records. Boiler Attendant can expect to work long hours.

Successful Boiler Attendants should have exceptional math and analytical skills as well as written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates have boiler experience a working knowledge of word processing database and able to maintain Excel spreadsheets .

Responsibilities & Duties:

May include but isnt limited to:

• Remove and roll in boiler tubes (maintenance only).
• Make water analyses.
• Make stack gas analyses
• Requisition boiler room parts and supplies.
• Operate and maintain water softening and water treatment equip.
• Responsibility for work layout and general direction and assignment of boiler room attendants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Secondary Duties:

• May repair or replace steam and water valves throughout the plant.
• May be on night call.
• May be required to have license to operate the boilers
• May do repairing in spare time of cannery equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of in experience in boiler operations.
• Knowledge in water chemistry blow down requirements daily reporting computer skills i.e. Microsoft Excel
• Certification not required.
