Defence Radio Operator Technician

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical Advisory and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defenceand National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for aBattle Telecommunication Network (BTN) Operational Services Specialistin Canberra to work within Land Network Integration Centre. Your prior experience in tactical applications and networking satellite communications FVEYS BTN systems and HACE will be crucial in succeeding in this role. Candidates will be able to configure and support satcom modems IBTN equipment and BMS-C2 systems.

What Youll Do

This role offers a broad scope with key role responsibilities including:

• Leading the development in the technical integration of the tactical services such as BMS-C2 and Mission Partner Environment

• Review and provide advice on the design and implementation of interfacing systems.

• Provide maintenance support to BTN hardware and software Configuration Items.

• Engineer test and pre-development systems to support BTN integration to the Land Combat System.

What Youll Bring

• Experience in configuring deploying and supporting deployable C2 applications.

• Experience developing and administering Linux based servers applications and standard operating environment (SOE) images.

• Previous experience with FVEY WAN networks and systems would be highly desirable.

• Experience with web conferencing configuration management and troubleshooting.

• Previous defence background/ defence industry experience within Radio Networks or High frequency.

Due to the nature of the work you are required to currently hold AGSVA clearance as required by the some instances compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
