GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking to fill a temporary Auditor II position for the purpose of assisting with a programmatic audit of the Wyoming Business Council (WBC). If you are a detail-oriented auditor ready to dive into a meaningful project that ensures public resources are used effectively this is the job for you!
As an auditor in this position youll be a key player in exploring the inner workings of the WBC uncovering the details and ensuring integrity. Specifically you will assist with obtaining an understanding of the programs managed by the WBC. You will help to compile information and examine various accounts. You will also have the opportunity to evaluate transactions to determine compliance with laws regulations and grant requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.- Performs extensive analysis of audited institution financial statements.
- Reviews policies and procedures.
- Assists in conducting examinations to ensure they are abiding by applicable laws and regulations.
- Conducts pre-examination preparation coordination and review.
- Conducts on-site examinations to include review of financial statements and reporting requirements.
- Reviews adequacy of operating procedures and internal controls.
- Conducts post examinations. This includes drafting initial comments of examination findings and analyzing and comparing work papers.
- Analyzes and verifies that data is supported by source documentation.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
A solid foundation in accounting skills and accuracy
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of GAGAS or other regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of researching information sources.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of types of internal and external audit reports.
- Knowledge of information technology security procedures.
- Knowledge of multiple and diverse accounting computer and database systems as well as operating and personnel policies of each institution being audited.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of accounting management and information systems.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Travel may be required.
