Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hygiene clinical procedures including oral prophylaxis periodontal maintenance scaling and root planing sealants fluoride oral cancer screenings and x-rays
- Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene as well as instructions and demonstrations of effective oral hygiene methods
- Communicate with doctor where there are opportunities in patients for restorative and/or periodontal needs
- Obtain and review dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history and care slips) and ensure health history is updated for all returning patients
Qualifications
- Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license
- X-Ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specify
- Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specify

Working Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing sitting leaning and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry transport and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
